Glossary

Key terms used in Stet.

Accept — Apply a suggested change to your document. The suggestion is merged into your text and attributed to the contributor.

AI note — An instruction left in the document for an AI agent, created with the ✦ button. Stored as hidden markers in the markdown; resolved when the agent applies the edit and removes them.

Change pill — The small floating indicator along the right edge of the editor that represents a suggestion. Hover or click to preview the change.

Conflict — When two contributors suggest changes to the same part of a document. Marked with a warning on the change pills.

Contributor — A person or AI agent who has proposed changes to your documents.

Inline preview — A visual overlay in the editor showing how a suggestion would look if accepted. Green highlights for additions, red strikethrough for deletions.

Pin — Click a change pill to pin its preview, keeping it visible even when you move your mouse away.

Reject — Permanently dismiss a suggestion. Rejected changes won't reappear.

Review link — A shareable web link (sync.getstet.app/r/<token>) that lets someone review one document without a Stet account. You can create more than one per document and optionally protect a link with a password.

Review rules — The workspace-wide policy for what needs approval before it lands, set once by the workspace owner in Share Settings and shared by every member. Your own local review settings can only add more caution on top of the workspace's rules, never less.

Suggestion — A proposed edit from a contributor. Suggestions are reviewed and acted on individually — nothing is applied without your approval.

Workspace — The folder Stet opens, watches, shares, and syncs. Sharing and review rules always apply to a whole workspace, not to individual subfolders.
