Writing
Editing Basics
Open a file from the left panel and start typing. Stet handles the rest.
Opening a file
Click any file in the files panel to open it in the editor. The file's content appears as formatted text โ headings, lists, bold, and other formatting render visually as you'd expect.
Typing and editing
The editor works like a standard word processor. Click where you want to type and start writing. Use familiar shortcuts like Cmd+B for bold or Cmd+I for italic.
Auto-save
Your work saves automatically after a brief pause in typing. Watch for the status indicator at the bottom of the editor:
- "Saving..." โ your changes are being saved
- "Saved" โ everything is captured
You never need to manually save. If you close the app and come back, your work will be exactly where you left it.
Empty documents
New or empty files show "Start writing..." as a placeholder. Just click and begin typing to replace it.
